I have kept large parrots for almost a decade, and currently have two - a 50-ish year old Yellow Naped Amazon, and a 10-year-old Umbrella Cockatoo. I have worked for multiple pet stores/boutiques, a parrot rescue, and done parrot grooming and occasional pet sitting. I also have a long-haired cat that thinks that the birds will eat her if she hangs around them at all.

parrot_foolish, which is a great source for common-sense parrot care and information, as well as a look at things that parrot owners shouldn't do (in the vein of FHOTD).
Because I teach minors and occasionally post on adult themes and topics, my journal is friends only (occasional posts might be public). Please comment on any public post to be added to my flist.
